Want to really see how much it rained? The Grand View Rain Gauge by Conant Custom Brass VRG6 design offers easy-to-read, magnified numbers - 50% larger when filled with rain water. Designed to use the water being collected to magnify the already large numbers. As the water rises, the cylindrical shape of the vial acts as a magnifying lens, effectively increasing the width of the numbers covered by 50 per cent! This rain gauge also uses a collection funnel with a surface area greater than that of the collection tube. This allows the scale to expand proportionately which in turn allows for larger, easier to read numbers. This model uses an attractive twisting stake to mount in soft ground or mounting ring to attach onto a post.

Avoid freezing!

Be sure to bring in your rain gauge before air temperatures reach the freezing point. This will keep it safely free of ice which can expand and break the vial. Replacement vials are available if you forget.
